Yup, this journal is about

zombies!
Last night I got the opportunity to play the latest game from VALVE: Left 4 Dead. OMFG that game rules!! Valve makes such great visual games. Most likely because their games run on the STEAM engine. No, not a locomotive. A game has to run off an engine and depending on the engine will determine the way the game looks on your screen.
Anyways, back to zombies.
Even though Left 4 Dead is not the typical game I would play on a routine, Left 4 Dead keeps you strapped in for a long bloody ride!! So grab LOTS of ammo, cause you may run out before you reach the safe-house!
The scariest part of the game are the zombies. Yeah, this game has zombies galore. Not the slow-moving-drag-one-leg-and-moan kinda zombies either, these fuckers run faster than I do on a good day and I havent ran that fast since elementary school.
A while back, I remember playing "Dead Rising".
You start out in a mall, and theres more zombies in that mall than the mall where I live. But they're there to have dinner, and you're the main course. So good luck!
The zombies in Left 4 Dead arent hungry at all. Not even a taste. These zombies remind me of the infection "Rage" which was introduced in the movie "28 Days Later". If you havent seen that movie yet, watch it. "Rage" is an experiment gone horribly wrong, and if you become infected with Rage then imagine "Road rage" times a million hell-bent on destruction.
I also saw influences from the movie "Resident Evil". You remember the monster that had a long-tongue? I saw influences from Far Cry: Instincts Evolution. You remember the screaming-blow-up-in-your-face zombie?
I am not saying they did this intentionally, but there were moments when I had those flashbacks.
All-in-all, the perfect ingredients for one hell of a scary zombie game.
Sorry you had to read all that, but I seriously had fun last night and wanted to share my experience. Thank you for listening.
