Description

(My idea at first was to make this surreal, it eventually became what it is in the end.)
The concept is derived from Clive Barker's movie = 'Lord of Illusions', which I'm including a [link] to a scene in the movie that will give you a better understanding what this art work represents. (*I changed the names of Cabal and Zool, so I will not be declared a plagiarist*)

"There are two worlds of magic. One is the glittering domain of the illusionist. The other is a secret place, where magic is a terrifying reality. Here, men have the power of demons. And Death itself is an illusion."

Cabal, a man who wanted to be God, and changed his mind. He had been called by his children, the Black Magician. He had many followers and worshipers among his teachings, forewhich they would die for him. Oneday two people set out to destroy Cabal, deep in the heart of the desert is where they found him and his communion. Many of the followers died that day thwarting off the impostors, who had said they were there to follow Cabal's teachings. Miraculously, the impostors managed to capture and imprison Cabal with a iron mask and buried him alive 6ft in the ground. 1 year had passed, and Cabal's most loved follower Zool, set out to awaken his master. Zool gathered the remaining followers and they travelled back to the desert. After the awakening of Cabal, he was furious at his children for allowing him to be imprisoned. He tells his children that he has a big surprise for all of them. Rain started to fall, and the mud began to make them sink. Everyone was screaming in pain and despair, Cabal shouting "You're no children of mine, Every last one of you shall pay for what happened to me." The rain stopped, and all who perished looked like mud-caked statues. Then Cabal said to Zool, lets find these impostors.

(the fire) represents Cabal's power. (the hole) represents where he was buried alive.

Oooo freaky :S ...nice use of textures here .. pretty dark and gritty which is cool :) Love the way the flat landscape gives an even greater feeling of desolation :S
